Less friction. More finished.

The little changes.
The whole document.

From a quick correction to a form that needs filling, keep the work in one place.

Make the words work

Edit existing text, add a new text block, and move text or images. Keep an edit history you can step back through.

Text & layout

Fill it. Sign it. Send it.

Complete form fields, turn a static form into fillable fields, and add a drawn signature when a visual signature is what you need.

Forms & signatures

Get your pages in order

Rearrange, rotate, remove, or add pages from another PDF. Export the document when it’s ready.

Page organization

Work beyond the surface

Recognize text in scans with local OCR, search your document, and compare PDFs to review what changed.

OCR & comparison

Take sensitive details out

Remove supported text content with redaction. The editor warns when content cannot be fully removed. Review the exported result before sharing.

Redaction

Pick up where you left off

Undo and redo edits, restore a browser-saved session when available, or export a session file to carry your work with you.

Privacy, by how it works

Your document
stays with you.

The usual PDF workflow starts with an upload. Ours starts by opening the file in your browser. The editing engine runs on your device.

No document upload for editing

PDF parsing, rendering, editing and OCR happen in your browser. PDFinally’s server delivers the app; it does not receive your PDF during these operations.

Your source file stays intact

Edits are recorded separately from the original PDF. You choose when to export a new PDF or a portable session file.

Optional features. Clear choices.

If you enable AI with your own API key, your confirmed prompt and optional field labels go to the provider you choose. Your PDF and field values are not included. Dictation may send audio to your browser’s speech provider; the editor explains this before you start.

Local processing is a specific privacy benefit, not a promise of absolute security. Website delivery still involves normal network requests. Keep your device and browser up to date, and review exported files before sharing.

A shorter path to done

Skip the upload.
Get to the edit.

No waiting for a document to travel to a server and back with every change. A WebAssembly engine works locally, while background workers keep document work off the main interface.

After the editor has loaded and cached successfully, core editing can work offline. OCR needs its language models downloaded first. Large or complex files still depend on your device’s memory and processing power.

A few things worth knowing

Before you open a file.

Do I need to create an account?

No. Open the editor, choose a PDF from your device and start working. Optional AI features require your own provider API key and may incur provider charges.

Where are my documents and sessions stored?

Your open document lives in the browser. When browser storage is available, PDFinally saves a local recovery session on this device. Private browsing, storage limits or browser cleanup can remove it. Export a session file for a backup you control, or save your finished PDF.

Will it work on my phone?

The editor has a touch-friendly interface for phones and tablets, as well as desktop controls. Performance depends on your browser, device and document. For complex files, a larger screen and more available memory can help.

Can I edit every PDF exactly like a word processor?

PDFs are fixed-layout documents. Fonts, scans, clipping and unusual file structures can limit what can be edited. PDFinally explains unsupported operations instead of treating every document as if it were the same. Always review the exported result.

Does a drawn signature count as a digital signature?

A drawn signature adds a visible mark. It is not a certificate-based digital signature. Editing an already digitally signed PDF can affect its signature validity; check the signature information before making changes.

What happens when I use AI or dictation?

Both are optional. AI sends the prompt you review, plus field labels if you include them, to OpenAI or Anthropic using your own API key. The key stays in the tab’s memory. Dictation can use a browser-provided speech service, which may receive your audio. Neither feature is needed to edit a PDF.

One less unfinished thing

That PDF isn’t going
to edit itself.

Let’s finish it

Open in your browser. Keep it on your device.
